- Created topics for weekly discussions.
- Created Discussion Questions.
- Created weekly discussion questions based on topics and types of discussions.
- Created Clear Guidelines and Expectations.
- Created guidelines for discussions with clear expectations about online discussion requirements, deadlines, and grading procedures.
- Created a discussion rubric.
- Created a comment rubric.
- Created a Plan for Facilitating Discussions.
- Created a plan to keep learners on track during the discussions by; connecting ideas from multiple posts, making connections to the discussion topic without taking over the conversation, and by learners making and defending positions and explaining how they came to their conclusions.
- Determined how learners will bring in their own experiences to the discussions and reflect on what they did.
- Decided how to summarize each discussion, actively participate in the discussions, and provide encouragement and support.
